TRAVEL EXPENSES -
We don't charge a travel fee to go to locations within a one hour's drive of Mt. Airy, MD, which includes the areas within the general limits of Hagerstown, Leesburg, Chantilly, Alexandria, Annapolis, Baltimore, Monkton, Lineboro and Emmitsburg. We travel to all the places within that circle for free There's a travel fee for locations further away than that - $100 per extra hour, one way. Meaning, if we drive two hours, one way, to get to the venue, there's an extra $100 charge, total. I don't charge $100, both ways.
HORSES -
All our horses live happy lives, out in grassy pastures during the day and safely tucked into their beds at night. They work only a few hours a week, and love pulling carriages, since they were bred and born to do it. Carriage horses love to pull like hunting dogs love to hunt!
PRICES -
Call or email us for a quote. Our prices depend on the location where you'd like the carriage, the duration of the ride/s and which carriage you choose.
QUALITY -
All our horses are beautiful, and we take great pains to make sure they're sparkling clean for all events! We decorate our carriages beautifully, to match each event, at no additional cost. We're kinda famous for our lavish decorations.
SERVICES -
Weddings -
For a standard wedding, we do an "Grand Entrance" (or first reveal) for the bride - delivering her to the ceremony site (from nearby on the property). Then we wait for the ceremony to conclude, and take the couple away on a "Goodbye Ride" for 15 minutes or so, around the immediate area (where it's safe). After that, we come back to pose for photos with the wedding party, family and friends. We don't travel long distances in the carriage (over a mile) or go on busy, congested streets where traffic could be dangerous to the horse and carriage. In the case of the ceremony and the reception being at two different locations, I ask the bride to choose which location the guests would see the carriage's arrival and/or departure the best. In the case of the ceremony being inside a church, for instance, the couple may opt for a Goodbye Ride immediately after the ceremony, where the guests all come outside and send them off in the carriage. Then we return for photos. Or, the couple may choose to do an Entrance Ride and photos at the location of their reception.
Our Funeral Services we have a white Hearse which is pulled by two white horses. The horses and carriage and can be used for a ride through the old neighborhood, as a departure from the church or funeral home or an arrival at the cemetery.
For Birthdays and other parties, we generally pick the passenger/s up somewhere close to the venue or home, give them a private ride and deliver them in a Grand Entrance to the party location and pose for photos.
For Quinceaneras, we generally meet the birthday girl somewhere close to the venue, give her a private ride and pose for photos, then deliver her to the party, where we pose for LOTS more photos. :-)
For Proms, we generally pick the passenger/s up somewhere close to the venue, give them a private ride and deliver them in a Grand Entrance to the prom venue, where more photos can be taken.
